Joe Freshgoods

Origin

Joe Robinson, f.k.a. Joe Freshgoods, was born and raised on the west side of Chicago, Illinois. As a child, Joe had a passion for writing and even, at one point, wanted to pursue that as his career. This is where his storytelling and overall creative sense began, and later continued to evolve as he entered his high school years. He later attended the prestigious Lane Tech High School, where he constantly found ways to stand out from the crowd with his unique sense of style. With his early found creativity, Joe went on to design and sell his first line of t-shirts, featuring famous celebrity mugshots and controversial quotes, which drew a ton of popularity from his peers.

Early Career

After finding some success selling t-shirts that he designed for his classmates, Joe went on to work at the famous Chicago Streetwear store "Leaders." He credits his time at "Leaders" with helping him develop core business skills while growing his network in Chicago's creative arts scene through his newfound friendships with Vic Mensa, Chance the Rapper, and Mick Jenkins.

Entrepreneurial Journey

After his stint at "Leaders," Joe's next goal was to create some form of a brick-and-mortar in which he could sell his products and curate the environment for his consumer base. His first attempt at this was opening a "fake storefront," as he liked to call it, located in the garage of his friend and Chicago based photographer, Trashhand. Through his "storefront," Joe was able to grow his brand presence by selling the soon to be popular, "Dope Boy Magic" Hoodie. Upon finding continued success with selling his products at these pop-up style venues, where he was eventually able to establish his own brick and mortar store in Logan Square entitled "Fat Tiger" in 2014.

Recent Collaborations

As of today, Joe is known as one of the most unique creative directors coming out of Chicago. He's been able to lead a variety of successful collaborations and ad campaigns for brands such as McDonalds, Nike, Adidas, The Chicago Bears, Converse, The Chicago White Sox, and most notably, New Balance.
