This Christian Dior mesh print baby tee is from their SS06 collection by John Galliano. It features a trompe l’oeil fishnet printed all over with “Dior” being printed into the fishnet across the front.
Trompe L’oeil, which means “trick of the eye”, is an illusion when one thing is made to look like something else. Galliano used this in the SS06 collection by making all items in the collection a shade of nude to match his models’ skin tone. This resulted in the runway illusion of models wearing particular types of shirts, jackets, skirts etc… that were actually just printed onto a different clothing item.
